In this presenastion, the speakers will present how important Circular Economy (CE) will be in architecture and construction in the future and which principles are inherent in the planning of CE. To this aim, the pilot project ”Recyclinghaus” in Hanover is introduced as an example of circular construction. Furthermore, the associated changing design process, for circular design, is explained and which tools are currently available for this purpose.
Sina Hage (M. Sc.; M. Arch.) studied structural engineering at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany as well as architecture in Valencia, Spain. After finishing her studies, she gained experience as a research assistant at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and later on as a structural engineer at Arup, a global construcFon corporaFon. Now, she is researcher in the field of vernacular, sustainable architecture & circular economy in architecture at the Jade University of Oldenburg.
Sharina Alves holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering Construction Management (B.Eng.) and a master’s degree in Management and Engineering in Construction (M.Eng.). She worked for several years in technical facility management and is now a research assistant at the Jade University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg, Germany for a research project on the digitalisation of SME in the construction sector.
