After training as a carpenter, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Hollermann studied civil engineering with a specialisation in structural engineering. He then worked as a construction supervisor for bridge construction in mining damage areas. He worked as a construc6on manager in bridge construction in Scandinavia. He completed his doctorate at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. As head of construction operations and technical development, he worked in a timber construction company. He then worked in digital construction and construction process optimisation at a construction company. In 2019, he became a professor of digital building design at Jade University of Applied Sciences. In addition to teaching and research, he heads the Institute for Database Oriented Design.
Tanja Schaa completed her degree as an engineer with a specialization in constructive engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg. After that, she worked as a design engineer in the steel construction industry for seven years, where she gained knowledge in the planning and construction of steel structures. For nearly 20 years now, she works exclusively as a freelance project planner, supporting clients in the implementation of their construction projects. She has recently joined the Institute for Database Oriented Design as a research associate.
The second international Drivers for Wood Construction event will be held in Joensuu 15.-16.5.2023 with the theme Holistic Approach Towards Sustainable Wood Construction.
