Session – Green Cities and The Role of Wood Construction

Designing with the invisible

The Key Note will give perspectives on innovative prototyping aimed at developing scalable solutions for urban challenges, particularly in relation to biogenic materials and related design methods. The insights are drawn from the case of Faelledby and Ripple Residence in Copenhagen, which serves as an example of how these concepts can be applied in real-world scenarios.

This involves testing new ideas and designs in a practical context, allowing for experimentation and refinement. It’s crucial for developing solutions that can be scaled up to address larger issues – the focus is on finding approaches that work not just in a limited scope but can be applied widely.

The Key Note will tough upon forward-thinking approach to urban planning that leverages new technologies and materials to build cities that are not only more sustainable but also capable of adapting to future challenges, and show how urban areas can withstand and adapt to various challenges, such as climate change, resource scarcity, and social issues. Incorporating biogenic materials and innovative designs can help cities better respond to these challenges
