Biopartners

The University of Eastern Finland, the Natural Resources Institute Finland and Karelia University of Applied Sciences together form the product development partners of wood and bioeconomy companies called Biopartners( in finnish Biopartnerit). Bio-partners offer a low-threshold opportunity to access the services and equipment of research institutes in their development work. Activities focus on wood and fiber-based materials and products. Through our networks, we also have good connections with other research organizations in the field in Finland and around the world.

The activities of the bio-partners focus on the beginning of product development, which requires rapid experimentation and testing. Biopartners combine chemistry, physics, biomass processing and expertise in wood and wood products. In addition to individual test runs, Biopartners also enable the implementation of large-scale and multidisciplinary product development projects.
